Capabilities register
One disciplined firm, six ways to back a great company.
Queenstone Group operates as a private holdings company, an investment partner and a strategic advisory — sometimes all three for the same owner. Each capability stands alone; together they let us meet a company wherever it is in its life.
Private holdings
We buy companies to keep them.
Private holdings is the centre of gravity at Queenstone: acquiring majority or significant minority stakes in established, profitable companies and holding them for the long term. There is no exit clock, no obligation to sell, and no mandate to flip. We buy to preserve what the founders built and to help it compound.
What's included
- Acquisition of majority or significant minority stakes
- Owner transition and succession capital
- Buy-and-build platforms within a chosen sector
- Carve-outs of non-core divisions from larger groups
When to engage us
An owner is approaching retirement with no clear successor; a founder wants to take chips off the table without losing the company's culture; or a division is being neglected inside a larger group and needs a dedicated home.

Holding company, not a fund
- Horizon: indefinite — we hold for as long as the business remains excellent
- Stakes: majority or significant minority
- Capital: permanent balance-sheet equity
- Sellers: founders, families and corporate groups

Growth without giving up control
- Stage: established, revenue-generating businesses
- Position: minority, with founder-friendly terms
- Use of funds: expansion, acquisitions, new markets
- Add-on: cross-border support via UK ↔ Gulf desk
Investment & growth capital
Fuel to scale — without surrendering the wheel.
Not every owner wants to sell. For founders who want to stay in control and keep building, we provide minority growth capital to fund expansion: new geographies, additional capacity, a key acquisition, or a move from the UK into the Gulf (or vice versa). We bring capital and a network; the founder keeps the mandate.
What's included
- Minority equity for market, product or capacity expansion
- Acquisition finance for buy-and-build strategies
- Working-capital and structured growth facilities
- Co-investment alongside the founding team
When to engage us
The business has outgrown its bootstraps; a clear opportunity (a contract, a competitor, a market) needs capital now; or the founder wants a minority partner who will not push for an early exit.
Strategic advisory
Senior counsel on the decisions that define a company.
Some engagements do not need capital — they need judgement. Our advisory partners work alongside founders, boards and family offices on the hard, infrequent decisions: buying or selling a business, raising capital, restructuring a balance sheet, planning succession, or crossing borders between the UK and the Gulf.
What's included
- M&A advisory — buy-side and sell-side support
- Capital structure and financing strategy
- Succession and ownership-transition planning
- Board-level strategy and governance reviews
When to engage us
A transaction is on the horizon and you want a discreet, experienced sounding board; a board needs an independent view; or a family is restructuring holdings across jurisdictions and wants steady hands on the tiller.

The work after the deal
- Focus: governance, operations, talent, reporting
- Stance: engaged partners, not absentee landlords
- Reporting: clear, owner-oriented, no jargon
- Horizon: steady through cycles and transitions
Portfolio stewardship
The deal is the beginning, not the end.
Once capital is committed, the real work starts. We are active stewards of the companies we back — strengthening governance, supporting management, improving operations, and bringing the discipline of an owner rather than the distance of an institution. We help good companies become more durable.
What's included
- Board representation and governance frameworks
- Operational value-creation and performance monitoring
- Executive talent, recruitment and succession
- Clear, regular reporting designed for owners
When to engage us
A portfolio company needs stronger governance; management wants a thought partner for growth; or an owner wants the assurance of engaged, long-term stewards rather than a passive investor.
Family office & principal capital
A steady hand for principal and family capital.
We work with principals and family offices to allocate capital with discipline — into direct private deals, managed co-investments, and structured liquidity. The aim is the same as for our own balance sheet: durable returns, low drama, and arrangements that respect the family's privacy and long horizons.
What's included
- Direct private-deal sourcing and co-investment
- Managed liquidity and structured allocation
- Deal screening, diligence and ongoing oversight
- Discreet, relationship-led arrangements
When to engage us
A family is diversifying into private assets; a principal wants access to direct deals without building a full in-house team; or a family office wants a trusted co-investor with aligned incentives and absolute discretion.

Anchored in Dubai
European Technical — our UAE operating company
Our UK-to-Gulf bridge is not theoretical. Queenstone's UAE operating company, European Technical, runs a Dubai-based home-maintenance and technical-services business — giving the group live market presence, local partners and on-the-ground operational know-how.
UK ↔ Gulf expansion
A real bridge between Britain and the UAE.
Many firms talk about cross-border; we actually do it. We help established British companies enter the Gulf, and we help Gulf principals deploy capital and operations into the United Kingdom. Backed by our Dubai operating company, European Technical, we offer market entry that is grounded in operational reality rather than slide-deck theory.
What's included
- UK-to-UAE market entry strategy and execution
- Gulf-to-UK capital deployment and acquisition support
- Local structuring, partners and operational set-up
- Hands-on launch support via in-country teams
When to engage us
A UK business is ready for Dubai but lacks local expertise; a Gulf principal wants to acquire or build in Britain; or a group needs a partner with genuine two-way presence rather than a referral fee.
